Bushmills 400th Anniversary, 46 %

Review #26
The license to Bushmills was given 1608, so of course in 2008 they had to make a 400th anniversary edition. The smell is very floral, fudge and dark berries.

The taste is fruitier. Dried fruits, vanilla and a hint of citrus and soap. The finish is a bit sweeter than the taste, and stays for quite a bit in the mouth.

I don’t know why Bushmills chose this for being their 400th Anniversary edition. It is a fine whisky, but nothing special. Like a sequel to a good movie that doesn’t live up to the expectations. They should have spent as much time creating the whiskey as they were on making the package to the whiskey. I rate this whiskey 82/100 (20/21/21/20).
