Review #46 |
It is between 8 and 10 years old and the smell is lightly peaty and the oak
smells burned. There is some vanilla and it seems very fat and oily. The taste becomes peatier and you find
some grass and citrus notes.
The peat in the
finish is a bit lighter, and some sweet notes of honey come forward. The
balance is fine but the whisky is not that complex. Just a nice peat-whisky.
The casks have been through the dechar/rechar (see glossary) process and it
seems to work quite well. I rate this whisky 87/100 (22/22/22/21).
