This is the standard expression from Paul John. It is
between 4 and 5 years old and a blend of 60 to 70 barrels. The smell is very
fruity and light. Almost like triple distilled Irish Whiskey. Some sweet pear,
and some vanilla comes through after a while.
The taste is sweet yet powerful alcohol mixed with
some spices joins the party. You also get some nectar and vanilla. In the
finish you get a mix of some raisins and spices. The nice fruity and nectar
sweetness stays for a while.
It is not that complex but has a really good balance.
I don´t think that water works that good with this whisky. It mostly brings
forward the alcohol. I will give this 86/100 (21/21/22/22).
