This young Port Charlotte from a Refill Ex-bourbon
Hogshead is called ’Mango chicken vindaloo’ and only 159 bottles came out of
the cask. The smell is sweet and light peated with some notes of chewing gum.
At a stunning 63 % you don’t feel it to overwhelming.
There is more peat in the taste than in the smell. Sweetness and floral notes
like roses and violets which go on into the finish.
It is a young whisky and it got that young Port Charlotte
freshness that many like. I know I do! This is great but not that complex. Just
a nice fresh straight up whisky for a cold winter day. I will give this 86/100
(22/22/22/20).
