Laphroaig 10 yo (1994), CWC, 51,7 %

This refill hogshead is cask number 8662 and only 332 bottles were made. It is from the range “Rare Casks – Scotland´s Finest”. Some peat and rubber in the smell. There is also some oak and slightly some lemongrass in the background.

The taste is very powerful and peaty at first. Then a bit spicy and some black pepper after the alcohol gets more in the background. Some iodine as well, and some lighter notes in the finish.

Give this some time to settle so the high ABV gets smoother. It really helps on the taste and finish. The smell doesn’t quite match the taste and finish, but it is fun and complex. I will rate this 87/100 (20/22/23/22).
