Arran 14 yo, 46 %

Review #168
This 14 year old is made from 60 % European oak and 40 % bourbon casks. It is very mellow in the smell. You get the classic Arran salt and light citrus alongside some dried fruits and pastry sweetness.

The taste is a light form dried fruits and a very good balance with the wood, which is more toasted than burned. It is a bit rough in the start, but after a couple of minutes in the glass it gets more calm. The finish stays for quite a while with a fat fruity sweetness.

This is a whisky that just keeps getting better and better, and I was happily surprised because the smell doesn’t sell this whisky very good. I will give this 87/100 (21/21/23/22).
