Glen Scotia 33 yo (1977/2010), ADR, 57 %

Review #221
This Glen Scotia is from a sherry hogshead (cask #985) and only 195 bottles were made. What an incredible color. 33 years in a sherry cask have really made the color deep deep red. The smell is heavy and filled with dried fruits. Considering that it has matured in 33 years, the oak influence is not very dominant. Just some light oak notes and some marzipan in the background. Well, the heavy dried fruits just overpowers most.

The taste is filled with dates and plums and some notes of licorice. It feels very oily in the mouth. It is just a regular fruit bomb in the finish. Brown sugar, and in the end the oak influence is just fantastic.

It is very strong both in ABV and flavor, so a bit of water is recommended. It brings out some more sweetness and makes it just a bit more gentle in general. This is truly a wonderful dram if you love the sherry influence. I will rate this 91/100 (22/23/23/23).
