Talisker 57° North, 57 %

Review #215
Isle of Skye, where Talisker Distillery is located, sits on the line of latitude 57 Degrees North. Hence the name for this cask strength whisky. It is fresh and lightly peated in the smell. Salt and tar comes to mind while I row row row my boat!

A little more peat in the taste. Some orange peel and licorice as well. Just a hint, and maybe more anise than licorice. If you are into the peaty maritime character, you will love this finish. It just stays in mouth and then disappears nice and easily.

Another great dram from Talisker. And nice to try something that is not bottled at 45,8 % for a change. Not that 45,8 % is bad, cause I really admire that they don’t bottle at 40 %!! The cask strength just really makes the finish! I will give this 88/100 (21/22/23/22).
