Review #228 |
The name ”Chairman’s
Choice”, comes from a tradition where the chairman would choose the finest
casks at Christmas to share with the family. The smell is young and malty. Just
a hint of citrusy notes and a dash of fresh fruits.
It is very
light and the malt is also coming through in the taste. Some peach and lighter
dried fruits like apricots with a hint of oak in the background. Extremely
light finish. Considering the low ABV and the lightness, it is actually staying
for quite some time in the mouth. Just not very heavy…
There might
have been a time where the finest casks were used, but I don´t think it is the
case anymore. At least I don´t hope so! I think there is too much young whisky
in it. It gives it a slightly bitter taste, and it just lacks complexity and
flavors. I will give this 80/100 (20/20/20/20).
