Tullibardine 22 yo (1993), Bartels, 51,1 %

Review #244
This is from the series Highland Laird. It is a single cask bottling and comes from a bourbon hogshead. The first thing I notice in the smell is an elegant mix of wood and vanilla. The sweetness really takes control but with some kind of tobacco note in the end.

The vanilla and the wood is dominant again in the taste, but it is not as elegant as in the smell. Not in a bad way though. Not at all! Some grass and hay notes are challenging the wood in the finish. A great battle where the age really shows.

A great Tullibardine and an example of how cask strength should be. Lots of flavors, yet not too strong for the palate. I will give this 86/100 (21/22/22/21).
