Auchentoshan 24 yo (1990/2014), Authentic Collection, 52,3 %

Review #270
Another single cask from Cadenheads. This one comes from a Bourbon barrel and only 150 bottles were made. A very sweet nose at first. Then some oak and herbs. It is all very mellow though. The smoothness from the triple distillation is very noticeable!

Wauw. So sweet and mellow at first in the taste! Not at all what I had expected from a cask strength, and not at all from the smell. The wood influence really shows, in the great way, in the finish. In the end you are left behind with the sweet vanilla and honey as you also get first in the smell.

If you got a sweet tooth, this is it! Not in the rum or sweet grain whisky kind of way, but in the good single malt whisky way. All clear? Anyway, a great Auchentoshan where the maturation period really makes the difference. I will rate this 88/100 (22/22/22/22).
