Glen Ord 25 yo (1987/2013), SMWS 77.32, 58,2 %

Review #293
This whisky is called “Salivating sweetness; savoury whispers” and comes from a refill hogshead. Only 246 bottles were made. The name is spot on. Almost… No drooling though. Very sweet in the smell like Christmas cake, but the sweetness is not overwhelming due to some spicy notes.

A lot of spices in the taste at first. Some tobacco and coffee mixes in and it all balance very good. The finish is warm and long and the oak starts to interfere alongside some chocolate. Very tasty.

It is a ‘heavy’ whisky. Not the kind where a bottle goes down very quickly, but more ideal for a cold winter day. A lot of things is going in on, but the balance between all these things is beautiful! I will give this 87/100 (21/22/22/22).
