Macallan 21 yo, Fine Oak, 43 %

Review #309
This is from a mixture of Bourbon and Sherry casks and it is the new label bottle. It is very friendly on the nose, and some fruity flavors is the first you notice. Sweet raisins and ripe plums. The oak makes a beautiful last impression. Unfortunately the 43 % makes it all a bit weak.

Much more flavor in the taste. Fruit and spices mixes at first. Ripe plums again, currant and black pepper. The oak comes more forward in the finish with just a touch of tannins in the end. Some light vanilla and marzipan sweetness as well.

Great mixture of fruit, spices and oak influence. I would love to try this cask strength, but at least they didn’t water it all the way down to 40 %! I will give this 86/100 (21/22/22/21).
