Isle of Jura 1997 (bottled 2014), Samaroli, 43 %

Review #334
This is from cask no. 9118 and 9119, but only 256 bottles were made. The smell is very light and full of white fruits. Apples and dry pears, but then the saltiness hits. Some grass and hay comes in last. It is very dry and you will not find much sweetness.

The grass and the hay is more dominant in the taste. Slightly peated with a bit of salt and sweet orange peel. The finish is quite long, but not in the warm cask strength kind of way. It goes back to the start of the taste, and the hay gets dominant again alongside some caramel.

This whisky would be perfect to describe the Island! The light peat, rough nature and the salty maritime touch. The ABV is only at 43, yet it is full of flavors, the finish is long and it is quite complex. I will give this 84/100 (20/21/21/22).
