Dalmore 15 yo, 40 %

Review #347
It is matured 12 years in bourbon casks and then equally shared in three different sherry woods (Amoroso, Apostoles and Matusalem Oloroso) for three years. The whisky is finally married together in an upstanding sherry butt. I get marzipan and vanilla sweetness in the smell. Raisins and fresh berries in the end.

Silky smooth dried fruits and elegant oak in the taste. Maybe so smooth it becomes unchallenging? Well, that’s a personal preference! A lot of sweetness from the berries and the dried fruits comes forward in the finish. What a dessert!

Like many other Dalmores, the ABV is simply too low, but again I sense a great potential if it were at a higher strength. 46 % could do the trick, but this in particular, I would love to try cask strength! I will give this 85/100 (21/21/22/21).
