Arran 17 yo (1996/2014), Whiskybroker, 54 %

Review #369
From a refill hogshead with cask number 1482. Only 272 bottles were made. The smell is light and citrusy. Some vanilla and white fruits joins the party. Very light in the flavours for a cask strength!

Much more flavor in the taste. Apples, pears, vanilla and gentle oak. The finish is long and warm, and some citrusy notes appears again. The oak comes a bit more forward with some caramel and marzipan sweetness.

If the nose had been as good as the taste and finish, this would have been great! It is still good though. This is a classic Bourbon barrel matured Arran whisky, yet somehow a bit different. More fruity flavours and less Island character perhaps? I will give this 85/100 (20/21/22/22).
