Review #380 |
From the bottler The Single Cask. This is
from cask B/443 and only 249 bottles were made. It is light and floral on the
nose at first. Sweet vanilla as well. After some time in the glass some peat
appears. Gentle peat and white fruits.
Peppery and
peated in the taste. Black pepper and vanilla. The second sip gets less intense
in the alcohol influence and more intense in the peat. Some apple and pears as
well. It is exactly these notes that lingers out in the finish. The sweet peat
is the last to leave.
It is not
very often I come across a whisky where the smell, taste and finish reminds me
so much of each other, but this is one of those, except from the black pepper
in the taste and finish. It is only 7 years old but that works fine here with the
sweet peat and the notes from young fresh spirit. I will give this 83/100
(21/21/21/20).
