Review #388 |
Peated
Bowmore as we know it. Peat, light floral notes and some gentle oak in the
smell. Almost nothing, just a wee hint in the background. Some lemon as well
and some grass and dirt.
Very fresh
and full of lemons at first in the taste. Right after the lemons fade, some
light peat comes rushing in. Not much change towards the finish, where the
flavors just lingers off, but in the end some smoked ham or bacon mixes with
the peat.
My guess
would be some refill bourbon barrels. It is not very complex but very fresh
considering that it is an Islay whisky. Definitely something for a warm summers
day. But be careful with water, as it drowns easily. I will give this 81/100 (20/21/21/19).
