Review #396 |
The bottle
code is: Cl-Br: 173-5j. It is double matured in Oloroso Seco Sherry casks. It
is very nutty at first in the smell. Then some leather and dried fruits come
forward. It is the heavy stuff like raisins and figs. There is some incredible
sweetness lying in the background. Like it is waiting to jump forward but can’t
take the last step.
Dried
fruits in the taste. But in a fresh kind of way. Like it is mixed with a little
bit of red berries. Some dark chocolate, fine oak and hints of tobacco in the
finish. And then the sweetness comes forward. Fruity sweetness from the dried
fruits.
This is one
of the better Distillers Edition out there! And the quality in those drams use
to be pretty good. I just miss a little something for it to break through to
the next level. Perhaps a bit higher ABV. Don’t get me wrong, the 46 % suits
it, but I think it could take a notch more. I will rate this 88/100 (22/22/22/22).
