Macallan 10 yo, Cask Strength, 58,4 %

Review #382
This is an old beauty! From sherry casks and that really shows. Dark fruits, oak and alcohol roughness in the smell. And that is meant in the most positive way possible!

More oak in the taste. Heavy dark fruits and it has that great alcohol kick that good cask strength whiskies got! The finish is fantastic. Like, I really mean, fantastic! You can chew on this for hours! The fruits stays behind but doesn’t fade in flavours.

This is Macallan as it should be! Heavily Sherry influenced with great balance and a perfect presence of oak. Macallan should have kept the “Sherry cask only” policy! I will rate this 91/100 (22/22/24/23).
