Macallan 10 yo, Sherry Oak, 40 %

Review #383
Good old Macallan strictly from Sherry oak casks from Jerez. Sweet berries covered in sugar, and as time goes, some darker fruits appear in the smell. A lot of plums for an example.

So dark and compact in the taste. So much flavour considered the low ABV. Plums, red berries, gentle oak and some notes of coffee. The finish is short, but as long as it lasts, it is very good and carry the flavours from the taste beautifully!

A classic and very clean Macallan. You won’t find any rough notes in here, and unfortunately (in my opinion), no alcohol kick either… This shows that whisky at 40 % can be very flavourful and complex. I will give this 86/100 (22/21/21/22).
