GlenDronach 10 yo (2003/2013), Single Cask PX, 55,1 %

Review #399
From cask number 3846, which was a Pedro Ximenez Sherry Puncheon, comes this single cask whisky. Only 626 bottles were made, for the Danish market. What a beautiful intense fruity smell. Raspberries, blueberries, plums and raisins just to name some.

Very powerful in the taste. Some soapy notes in the background mixes with the dried fruits. The finish is long and warm. The dried fruits combines great with some oaky notes that comes forward. The only sweetness I get all the way through is fruity sweetness from berries and the dried fruits.

A bit too soapy for me. Still a great dram, but it would have scored higher without these notes. Water will definitely calm it down and make it more approachable, but unfortunately also release some more soapy notes. I will give this 84/100 (22/20/21/21).
