Irish Malt - Very Old (bottled 2016), Liquid Treasures, 49,6 %

Review #431
This is a “Special summer dram edition”. It comes from a Bourbon barrel and only 123 bottles were made. Very old? Well, that’s subjective, and usually means that it is not that old… Green apples on the nose with sweet banana split in the background. Some light vanilla and lemons in the end with some gentle oak.

Loads of citrus, grass and floral notes. The alcohol comes in nicely and accompanies the taste very well. The finish is long with white fruits. Apples again, and do I detect some coconut and pineapple? Honey sweetness comes forward as well.

With my definition of “Very Old” it would probably not be labeled as such. But who knows, maybe I’m wrong? It is a very light dram without very much oak influence, but the high ABV saves the day. I will give this 84/100 (20/22/21/21).
