Glen Garioch 21 yo (1993/2015), Maltbarn, 52,5%

Review #439
This has matured in a Bourbon cask (cask #38) and only 142 bottles were made. Very light and clean with loads of white fruits at first in the smell. After some minutes in the glass, some baked apples, orange peel and lemons comes forward. The citrusy notes ain´t in the young kind of way though.

The taste is fresh and sweet. Fresh crunchy green apples with a sugary touch. Some oak comes into play as well, and alongside the sugary notes, it carries out in the finish. It is a quite long and very pleasant finish, but not very complex.

First, I wondered a bit about the lack of oak influence on the nose, considering that it had spent 21 years in the cask. It did come out in the taste and finish, but still very subdued. I will give this 85/100 (21/22/22/20).
