Speyside 15 yo, House of Malt, 40%

Review #436
A bottling by the shop House of Malt in Carlisle called “Secret Bottling Series”. It is a mix of Bourbon and Oloroso Sherry casks. Sweet marzipan and rubber on the nose. Vanilla in the background. In general it is a very sweet and light on the nose. A touch of lemons at the end.

A little different in the taste. Light oak influence and very sweet. Honey sweetness. Some raisins as well, but it is the sweetness that is dominant. Unfortunately, it gets very watery very fast in the finish. Some nice fruity notes is left behind in the mouth though.

A dessert like whisky. Very sweet, but a bit too simple and weak in the ABV in my opinion. And for 15 years in the casks the influence is not very impressive… I will give this 80/100 (19/21/20/20).
