Arran 18 yo (1996/2015), Whiskybroker, 54,1%

Review #457
This is bottled for Skt. Klemens Malt and comes from a Sherry butt with the cask number 1829. Green apples, grass, honey sweetness and some bitterness from the wood in the smell. Quite fresh and gentle on the nose considering that it is 54,1 %.

The white fruits are very dominant in the taste with a citrusy touch. Gently accompanied by the wood and some spices, like pepper, in the background. The finish is long and sweet. Like glazed apples and pears.

A solid dram from Arran. Appearance isn’t everything, and this is a great example. It is 18 years old and comes from a Sherry butt. The colour doesn’t indicate that, and to be honest, the taste doesn’t either… Not that there is anything wrong with that, at all! As I said, a good solid dram, and I will give this 86/100 (21/22/22/21).
