Tamnavulin 28 yo (1988/2016), A.D. Rattray, 47,5%

Review #466
This is from the series “Individual Cask Bottling”, and comes from a Bourbon hogshead. It has the cask number 10028 and only 225 bottles were made. It is bottled for Alba Import in Germany. The smell is full of fresh white fruits! Loads of ripe pear. Hints of lemongrass in the background and some light caramel sweetness.

The taste is so fresh! Some grass and hay mixes in with all the above mentioned flavours. Very beautifully I may add! The fresh white fruits lingers out in the finish, as the sweetness takes over, accompanied with some almonds and vanilla.

A great dram from Tamnavulin! So fresh, and the reduced ABV, due to the 28 years of maturation, making it quite approachable even though it is cask strength. And what a great balance. Everything just seems to fit together in this dram. I will rate this 88/100 (21/22/22/23).
