The Glenlivet, Nadurra Peated Cask Finish, 62%

Review #468
This is batch PW1016 and is finished in heavily peated whisky casks. I have read Speyside peat different places, but not gotten it confirmed. Sweet vanilla, honey and marzipan at first in the smell. Then some very light citrusy peat comes forward.

There is a bit more peat in the taste. Some white fruits as well. Sweet apples and ripe pears. A bit new make flavours as well. The sweetness stays behind in the finish. Light white fruits with just a little hint of peat.

Classic light profile from Glenlivet, yet very different with the peat. And the peated cask finish makes the peat influence a bit different. It is hard to explain, something you have to try yourself.  At 62 % you can easily play around with water. Like many other Glenlivets these days, I think it is bottled too early. The whisky have potential, but haven’t received enough flavours from the casks yet. I will give this 83/100 (20/21/21/21).
