This is a
Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey from Heaven Hill Distillery. This is very
mild on the nose at first. After some minutes in the glass and a bit of warmth,
you start to feel the richness and flavours. Dried fruits, dry oak and honey.
Not very sweet though.
In the
taste, the flavours come right away alongside a nice alcohol burn. Spices, oak
and sweet raisins. The finish is warm and long and holds the oak nicely. The
oiliness just covers your mouth. Some burned caramel comes crawling forward as
well.
It is not
overly complex, but it gets the job done! It is thick and full of flavours and
is just a pleasure to sit and enjoy! A classic Bourbon which, in my opinion,
would be a great introduction for people who is new to this Kentucky spirit! I
will give this 85/100 (21/22/21/21).
