Tamdhu 10 yo, 43%

Review #475
This is the 10 year old Tamdhu launched in 2013. It is matured in Sherry casks, and that really shows! Light sweet Sherry influence on the nose. Some malted barley and vanilla as well.

First a little alcohol bite, great at 43%, in the taste. Then the sweet fruits starts rushing in. Cherries, dates, raisins and sweet oak (is that a thing?). The sweetness really comes forward in the finish. Honey glaze, vanilla and a lot of fruity sweetness.

I was quite surprised by this! I really enjoyed it, and the Sherry casks used, is definitely some of the better Sherry casks out there! The low ABV didn’t screwed up anything, and I would actually have guessed it a bit higher. I will give this 87/100 (21/22/22/22).
