Kilchoman Sanaig, 46%

Review #506
This is a mix of Bourbon and Sherry casks. It is named after a small creek close to the distillery. Very light with barley teasing your nose. Earthy with notes of wood spices and peat. It has a little citrusy note in the background as well.

The taste is mellow, with some dried fruits peaking out. Fresh fruits and berries as well. The amount of peat is great and mixes with some oak. The finish gets a bit more spicy. The peat lingers out with some fruity sweetness. Raisins, and just a touch of earth and coffee.

A fine expression with a great combination of Bourbon and Sherry casks mixed with the Kilchoman farm style. Normally 46% is a fine strength for Kilchoman, but I would love to try this at cask strength, or just a bit higher at least. I will give this 84/100 (20/21/22/21).
