Bowmore 10 yo, Inspired by the Devils Casks Series, 46%

Review #541
This is “a marriage of finest Oloroso Sherry and wine casks, exclusive to the global traveler” as it beautifully states on the bottle. Bowmore peat and dried fruits in the smell. The wine maturation influence is very noticeable.

Both the peat and the alcohol gets more dominant in the taste. Very rich in the fruit flavours and your mouth is covered in oils. Dates, raisins and spices like black pepper. The finish is hot and sweet from the dried fruits with a touch of dark chocolate.

In my opinion, it is not very often red wine maturation does any good for the whisky. This however, pulled it off. Not spectacular, but a good and decent dram. A good alternative to the many Bourbon matured Bowmore whiskies. I will give this 85/100 (21/21/22/21).
