Amrut Single Malt Rye, 50%

Review #608
This is a Single Malt Rye. That means that it is made exclusively with malted rye, European rye that is. It is then matured for 5 years in American oak. Sweet burned caramel, raisins and cherries in the smell.

Burned oak, caramel, toffee and raisins in the taste. Sweet dried dates in the finish, where sugars and oak mixes in beatifully! Overall, the rye and other grains (if not Rye only) leaves a wonderful ever lasting flavour on the palate.

It is not overly complex, but the flavours leaves your palate wonderfully spoiled. It is definitely not the last time I have gone for some Indian rye whisky. I will give this 86/100 (22/22/21/21).
