Glenburgie 15 yo, Ballantines, 40%

Review #614
This is one of three new single malts from Ballantines. Glenburgie forms the heart of a Ballantine’s blend, and now they also released it as a single malt, so you can get the full experience. Some dried fruits and oak in the smell. Very light though… Some spices as well, but it is the oak that is dominating.

The oak is the first I get again in the taste. Some more sweet notes comes forward – vanilla and sweet raisins. Some honey in the finish. It is generally sweet with some oak and fresh fruits on the side. It does actually stay for a little while considering the low ABV.

A very average dram. Some might say a little bit boring, but works well if you’d like a simple dram. It´s very Bourbon like, and I probably wouldn’t have guessed it to be a 15 year old single malt from Speyside. I will give this 80/100 (20/20/20/20).
